Talk about poetic timing. Loui Eriksson could be healthy enough to play against his former team in the Dallas Stars on Tuesday. The Boston Bruins demoted Ryan Spooner earlier today, which indicated that someone could be returning to the lineup. That someone could very well be Eriksson, who hasn’t played since taking a nasty head shot from John Scott on October 23.

He’s missed five games since Scott’s cheap shot, and the B’s haven’t fared so well without him in the lineup. They’re 2-3 since that contest against the Sabres, and have dropped games to comparably weaker clubs in the New York Islanders and the New Jersey Devils in his absence.
Eriksson would be a big boost for a Boston team that is trying to overcome a bit of early-season adversity.
He was just starting to click on the top line for the Bruins when he was wiped out by Scott. For what it’s worth, Eriksson did tell reporters that Scott had at least sent him a text to apologize for the blindside elbow.
It appears that he’s close to being able to put this whole ordeal behind him though. Between the whirlwind of returning to his old stomping ground in Dallas and just getting rid of the rink rust, Eriksson probably won’t be thinking about this incident within a few weeks.
