Miami radio host Dan Sileo fired for placing a bounty on FSU's Timmy Jernigan

Miami radio host Dan Sileo has always been very controversial.

Sileo has been a radio personality all over the state of Florida and has most recently found a gig with WMEN 640-AM in Miami.

During Saturday’s game between the Florida Seminoles and Miami Hurricanes, Sileo voiced his displeasure with the game. Sileo, who played for the Hurricanes in the 1980′s, was especially unhappy with Seminoles’ defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan and decided to put a $1,000 bounty on Jernigan.

Jernigan and the Seminoles blew out the rival Hurricanes 41-14.

On Monday, WMEN decided to fire Sileo.

WMEN executive producer Marc Eisenberg issued a statement about Sileo’s firing:

“As a result of Dan Sileo’s action on his personal Twitter account on November 3, 2013, WMEN has terminated his independent contractor relationship with the station. The ownership, staff, and management of WMEN 640 Sports do not condone his actions, which have no place in sports.”

Sileo has since tried to change public perception by saying he has received death threats and has personal police guarding his property in South Florida.
