Miles Plumlee has been a beast in the last 2 Summer Leagues. He never really saw time last season, as he only averaged 3.9 minutes during his rookie season in Indiana. Plumlee was part of the trade that sent Luis Scola to Indiana, and now he’s getting his opportunity.
He’s an athletic big who stands 6 foot, ten inches tall. He can rebound, and he has a decent mid-range game. The minutes will be there for the young guys this season under Jeff Hornacek, and Plumlee is showing he deserves it. He has started all 3 games for the Suns, and he has posted averages of 10.3 points and 11 rebounds per game. He can run the floor well, and he and Eric Bledsoe fit perfect together. The Suns are all in for the future, so every player is essintially auditioning for GM Ryan McDonough.
The Suns are surprisingly 2-1, and they may not be as bad as we originally thought. They are in the top ten defensively, and they are getting out and running. The Suns will likely be picking in the lottery, but they might have found a future starter in their organization. Now if only he can get his brother some playing time in Brooklyn.
