Both Nadal and Djokovic want ATP World Tour Finals to vary venues

With the ATP World Tour Finals about to begin in London, both Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have voiced displeasure that the event will be held in England once again. London’s 02 Arena, which first hosted the event in 2009 and has every year since, will host the tournament again in 2015, but both Nadal and Djokovic feel it is time to vary up the venue.

Said Djokovic:

I think this tournament should definitely be organized at different places more often. I think it should not be held in one city for more than three years. That’s my opinion because this is the tournament of the eight best players in the world and this is the tournament which is not fixed for one city or one country (Reuters).

Nadal said he feels variation is important because it would allow players to play on different surfaces:

The atmosphere is great here but that doesn’t meant the ATP shouldn’t be a little bit more fair to all the players. We qualify (for the tournament) on all the surfaces. I think to play it on different surfaces it would be something a bit more fair for the players and interesting for the fans too.
