After watching New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham catch two touchdowns on only three catches and 37 yards against the Buffalo Bills in Week 8, many wondered if Graham could continue to produce elite TE numbers while dealing with a Plantar Fascia injury that could linger for the remainder of the season.
Sunday, he proved all of his doubters wrong as he again scored twice, but was more of an weapon all over the field and not just in the red zone. Graham caught nine of his 12 targets for 116 yards as the Saints lost to the New York Jets, 26-20.
And per ESPN, Graham now has the most consecutive seasons with nine receiving TDs by a TE in NFL history:
|Antonio Gates SD||4||2004-07|
|Jimmy Graham NO||3||2011-13|
|Rob Gronkowski NE||3||2010-12|
It’s unclear as to when or if Graham’s foot will be able to fully heal this year, but it is clear his production isn’t going to take enough of a hit that you decide to not play him at any point in your fantasy football league.
His play will also continue to keep the Saints among the NFL’s most explosive offenses and quarterback Drew Brees among the game’s best passers.
