Texas Longhorns quarterback David Ash was hoping to come back to the team last week and play in Saturday’s game vs the Kansas Jayhawks. Ash suffered a nearly two months ago against BYU, and it’s held him out of action for essentially every game since, including Saturday’s game after Ash had a recurrence of symptoms related to the concussion
As a result, he was ruled out Saturday and has already been declared out for the West Virginia Mountaineers game this weekend. Ash has not played since the first half of the Kansas State game on September 21, and at this rate, he’ll be lucky to get back onto the field before the conclusion of the regular season.
UT Head coach Mack Brown said that Ash had been improving last week and that was he throwing the football and progressing, but until he can demonstrate that he’s fully recovered from the concussion, he won’t even get to stand on the sideline with the team during games.
