On Monday afternoon, the semifinalists for the 2013 Davey O’Brien Award, recognizing the most outstanding collegiate quarterback for this season, were announced.


2013 has certainly been a year that has been controlled by some stellar QB play. There have been some names that we were familiar with that have gotten even better, plus we have been introduced to some new names that are making their own mark under center.

The O’Brien Award recognizes the efforts of these young men yearly.

Last year, eventual Heisman winner Johnny Manziel took home the coveted award, and he’s done everything in his power this season to try and grab himself a second one.

But, can he hold off solid efforts from the other 15 quarterbacks on the list? Well, that still remains to be seen as we come down the home stretch of the season.
