After Lil’ Nog, Antonio Nogueira, pulled out of his scheduled fight with Alexander Gustafsson, rumors swirled that he would be replaced by Jimi Manuwa. UFC officials were hesitant to confirm anything until today.

Manuwa, who is coming off a victory over Ryan Jimmo just over a week ago, will have the biggest test of his career in the former title challenger, Alexander Gustafsson. Manuwa who is 14-0 in his career, is a rising prospect for the UFC’s Light Heavyweight division. He will be fighting in front of his hometown crowd in London, England on March 8th.
Gustafsson is coming off a razor-close decision loss to current champion, Jon Jones. Gustafsson was the first man to ever truly test Jones inside the Octagon, leaving many fans clamoring for the immediate rematch. After Jones noted he would like to move on from his ‘decisive’ victory, he will be fighting Glover Teixeira in his next title defense. The UFC initially booked Lil’ Nog vs Gustafsson, and now Manuwa has stepped in to replace Nogueira.
If Gustafsson is able to win, expect to see Jones (if he gets through Glover) vs Gustafsson 2 sometime in 2014.
