Arizona State Athletic Director Steve Patterson new favorite for Texas Athletic Director job

According to multiple reports, the Texas Longhorns have a new leader they’re keeping an eye on in their search for a new athletic director. The new front runner is said to be Arizona State Athletic Director, Steve Patterson.

This shouldn’t really come as much of a surprise as the Sun Devils are currently one of the hottest teams in college football at the moment and are favored to possibly win the Pac-12 South Division if they can keep it up.

Patterson is no stranger to the campus in Austin neither. He holds both an undergraduate degree and a law degree from Texas. That, combined with the fact that he has broad experience as a professional sports executive in the NFL and NBA, has really peaked the interest of Texas officials.

Within the last few weeks, West Virginia AD Oliver Luck was said to have emerged as the front runner for the coveted position, so don’t expect this to be the last time that a new person in the lead is speculated.
