Big 12 announces 2014 football schedule

The Big 12 has officially announced their 2014 conference football schedule.

The conference will kick off the season with a Thursday night game between the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Texas Tech Red Raiders on September 25. It will be the second time the Cowboys are featured in a marquee game. They’ll take on the Florida State Seminoles in the Cowboys Classic from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on August 30.

All in all, the Big 12 has four Thursday night games, culminating in a Thanksgiving night showdown between the Texas Longhorns and TCU Horned Frogs.

The Red River Shootout will take place on October 11 when the Longhorns and the arch rival Oklahoma Sooners battle in the Cotton Bowl during the Texas state fair.

The Sooners and Baylor Bears will play in one of the biggest games of the year Thursday night. They’ll square off in Norman, Oklahoma on November 8 next season.

Bedlam between the Cowboys and Sooners will take place on either November 29 or December 6 in Norman. That date and a date for the game between the Sooners and the Iowa State Cyclones have not been finalized.
