Chicago Bears Jay Cutler not sure if he’ll play against Detroit Lions
By Bryan Rose
On Monday evening, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported that Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler would start against the Detroit Lions in Week 10.
That apparently was news to Cutler, who in a sit down early Tuesday morning suggested that he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to suit up this coming Sunday:
"Jay Cutler on groin recovery: “I don’t think we can say I’ll be out there for Detroit.” (per chat w @WaddleandSilvy)"
Of course, that could simply be Cutler, per the advisement of the team not committing to anything before he needs to as there is little reason to give the Lions an early heads up on the Bears’ potential starter at quarterback.
Cutler, who is out with a groin injury, wasn’t expected back for a few more weeks but plans to go through the team walkthrough on Wednesday and hopes to practice on Thursday.
If Cutler, who underwent plasma enrichment therapy to advance his recovery is unable to go, Josh McCown will continue to start in his place.
