Evander Kane won’t suit up for the Winnipeg Jets when they take on the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday night. Based on how the Jets peppered the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday, they might not mind too much. NHL.com released the news that Kane won’t be traveling with the team as they make the trek to Chicago. As per their report:
Winnipeg Jets forward Evander Kane won’t be making the trip to Chicago. Kane is missing his second straight game with an unspecified injury.
Despite missing arguably their best forward, the Jets more or less beat up on Detroit. They controlled the puck, didn’t get the Red Wings any space and eventually ended up with a massive shot total because of their hard work.

The Blackhawks are a different sort of monster than Detroit right now though. While the Wings have had serious issues with their depth and offensive production, the ‘Hawks haven’t had those same problems. Chicago has the third-most effective offense in the NHL, averaging more than three goals per game.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Jets can grind out another win against a top-end team after struggling to find their game throughout October.
