This match between Olympiacos and Benfica in Group C is another under-appreciated match. The clubs lack the name recognition in the United States, but these are two quality clubs fighting for the number two spot in this group. Both clubs currently have four points heading into this match up.
“Olympiacos have good players,” Benfica coach Jorge Jesus said, via ESPN FC. “In the Champions League any team can win home or away and we have to get a victory in at least one of our away matches.”
“There are no favorites as both teams have similar strengths,” Jesus said, via UEFA.com. “It’s not the first time we’ll be playing in front of a passionate crowd – we do it regularly in Portugal. Each match is different but we’ll play to win tomorrow. We’ll reinforce our midfield like we’ve been doing recently.”
“To win, we’ll have to play better than we did in Lisbon and apply what we’ve been working hard on in training. We dream of playing in the Champions League final especially given that it’s in Lisbon. Perhaps there are teams whose dreams have more credibility than ours, though.”
