In a not so shocking turn of events, DMX has been arrested once again in South Carolina.
According to TMZ, law enforcement sources have told them that rapper DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was arrested yesterday in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
DMX was picked up by police at the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport. He was charged with three separate offenses; driving on a suspended license, driving while uninsured, and driving an unlicensed vehicle.
According to the TMZ report, officers noticed DMX pulling up to the terminal, and were apparently aware of his prior history.
This is certainly not the first run in that DMX has had with Law Enforcement. Let’s be real here, it’s not the first run in he’s had with Law Enforcement this year.
He has been arrested at least 3 times this year prior to yesterday’s arrest; almost all of which were stemming from some sort of vehicle and/or moving violations.
Most recently, he was arrested on August 20th in South Carolina. After being pulled over in a routine traffic stop for an illegal U-turn, police discovered marijuana in the vehicle.
Prior to August he was arrested in July for another driving under suspension charge as well as driving under the influence.
Maybe it’s just me, but at this point, I would assume that he would know better by now. How many times do you have to be arrested for the exact same thing before you learn? My biggest question, if he doesn’t want to straighten out his issues, why does he not hire a driver? At the very least have a friend that takes him places.
According to TMZ, DMX is still in custody, and will have to go before a judge before he can be released.
UPDATE: 11/6 – DMX Publicist Domenick Nati released the following statement to FanSided following the rapper’s recent arrest.
“DMX was released at 9:46pm Eastern Monday night. He was arrested on minor traffic charges and spent only three hours in jail. This short arrest will not affect any of his upcoming concerts and he is planning on performing with Swizz Beatz on Friday’s Wendy Williams Show.”
