Over the last few years, Chicago Bulls‘ forward Luol Deng’s has come to the forefront when the Bulls are involved in any rumors.
Despite all of the rumors, Deng’s desire to stay in Chicago remains unchanged.
“I definitely want to stay here,” Deng told ESPN’s Chris Broussard at the morning shootaround before the Bulls game at Indiana. “I would love to play here my whole career.”
Deng is entering the final year of a six-year contract and admits he thinks about his upcoming free agency.
“I’m a human being, so of course it’s in the back of my mind,” he said. “But honestly, I really don’t think about it unless (the media) brings it up. The older you get, the more you appreciate where you are and the more confidence you have in what you can do.”
Last season Deng averaged 16.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
“I understand that’s something I can’t control,” Deng added. “So I’m not going to waste a lot of energy worrying about what next year holds.”
