Chelsea vs Schalke 04 final score 3-0: Eto’o, Ba lead Blues to win


Chelsea hosted Schalke 04 in Champions League play today. It was the fourth game of group play for the teams. Chelsea and Schalke came in tied atop the table with six points.

Chelsea had to play without striker Fernando Torres and Jose Mourinho went with Samuel Eto’o in his place. Eto’o  rewarded Mourinho for his faith in the 31st minute. Eto’o scored with a right footed shot from the center of the box straight to the center of the goal. That gave Chelsea a 1-0 lead they took into the half agains the Bundesliga side.

Not satisfied with the one-goal lead, Eto’o added another goal early in the second half. Eto’o scored with a right footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom left corner. Willian got the assist on the goal with a through ball.

Demba Ba came on for Eto’o in the 77th minute. He wasted no time getting on the board for the blues scoring in the 83rd minute to give Chelsea a 3-0 lead. Ba took a left footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom left corner of the goal. Frank Lampard sent him a through ball to get the assist on the goal.

Those goals from Torres’ replacements gave Chelsea a 3-0 win.
