The NBA isn’t waiting around to send out silly fines this year, already nailing two players for ‘obscene gestures’.
First was Andray Blatche of the Brooklyn Nets, who was fined for mimicking the ‘marbles’ moment of Major League’s Pedro Cerrano. You know, lowering your arms to suggest you’ve got large marbles – hinting that you have the guts to take and make a big play in the closing moments of a game.
It was apparently a gesture and fine Caron Butler of the Milwaukee Bucks didn’t witness as he too was hit was the exact same punishment, a $15,000 dollar fine from the NBA after Butler (who was on court at the time) did the same ‘dance’.
With the Bucks trailing the Boston Celtics by three with under four minutes left in the game, Butler hit a clutch three to tie the game and could be seen running back down the court doing the below motion.
NBA players have been doing this for years, though, apparently the league decided to crack down on it this season as they’ve become a bit more strict on a handful of rules.
