The Baylor vs Oklahoma game has been a defensive war in the first quarter plus. On the final drive of the first quarter and down 3-0, Oklahoma used penalties to drive down the field.

With Oklahoma throwing the ball down the field on 3rd down, Baylor defensive back KJ Morton decided it was time to make a statement by smashing Oklahoma receiver Sterling Shepard.

On the play, Morton was originally ejected, then after a review it was decided that he was shoulder to shoulder and the decision to eject him was overturned. The play also see Baylor pick up an after-play personal foul, along with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Sheppard eventually got up and walked off the field.

The final tally was three 15 yard penalties and several yards for Oklahoma.

The Sooners didn’t score but left the ball inside the 5, where the defense caused a safety by sacking Bryce Petty in the end zone. Oklahoma then returned the ensuing kickoff inside the 20 and kicked a field goal to currently lead 5-3.
