Cornhuskers’ Ray Gallegos suspended for two games

Starting guard for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Ray Gallegos, has been suspended 2 games by the NCAA. In an article from the Associated Press, found here on ESPN,

Coach Tim Miles said Gallegos will sit out Friday’s opener against Florida Gulf Coast and Tuesday’s game against Western Illinois for a violation of team rules. Gallegos is a team captain who led the Big Ten in minutes played at 37.5 a game last season and he averaged 12.5 points.

Last year the Cornhuskers were 15-18 on the season, and 5-13 in the Big Ten. It’s obvious that they could use all the help they could get, and they don’t need anybody suspended. Even though it’s just two games, that’s two less games Nebraska has Gallegos on the court.

What do you thin? Is Gallegos’ absence going to be missed, or will Nebraska be able to roll with the punches as they start this new basketball season? How do you think the Cornhuskers will do this season? Feel free to sound of in the comment section below!
