The Texas Tech Red Raiders have quietly been rolling out some of the most impressive uniform combinations in college football this season, and it appears that they have head coach Kliff Kingsbury to thank for that.
As it turns out, Kingsbury has creative license over the Texas Tech uniforms and he makes the call when and where a certain uniform combination will be worn.
From USA Today:
Written into the contract is an agreement allowing Kingsbury “creative license” in the design of the football team’s uniforms, which are supplied by the clothing and apparel company Under Armour. If Kingsbury and Texas Tech’s athletic director – currently Kirby Hocutt – agree on the uniform design, Kingsbury then has “sole discretion” on choosing when his team dons specific uniform combinations.
There is no doubt that Kingsbury has been successful in suiting his team with some high quality uniforms, and the success translates to his off-field wardrobe as well.
Perhaps after he is donewith coaching, Kingsbury can become a fashion consultant for Hollywood’s top stars.
