Thursday night marks undoubtedly the biggest Pac-12 game of the season as the second-ranked Oregon Ducks take their undefeated record on the road to face the team that ruined their unblemished campaign last season, the Stanford Cardinal.
Oregon is on a roll this season, averaging 55.6 points per game and have been virtually unstoppable. While they have gotten off to some slow starts in some contests, no final score has been close in the end. The Oregon offense, as has been the case in recent years, just wears defenses down and they put you away as the clock winds down in the second half.
QB, and Heisman hopeful, Marcus Mariota has tossed for 20 touchdowns while leading this offense and has absolutely no interceptions.
But, as dominant as the Ducks have been, they’re now matched up with the team that held them to just 14 points in that game last season in Stanford.
The Cardinal are ranked fifth in the country, despite already having lost a game in the conference this season to the Utah Utes. However, if there is one thing that head coach David Shaw and members of this team are familiar with, it’s stopping the high-powered Oregon attack.
Is their physically imposing defense up to the task one more time?
