Steven Adams, welcome to the NBA.

Okay, so maybe that’s not how the Oklahoma City Thunder rookie was feeling after Wednesday night’s contest against the Dallas Mavericks when he took an elbow to the mouth, courtesy of veteran Vince Carter.

As Adams was caught between the baseline and the corner of the court, he attempted to shed the defenders and swung his arms a bit too much, catching Carter in the grill. The swingman was less than pleased with the swinging elbows of Adams, so after a quick moment to gather himself, Carter unleashed his own furry.

Carter made his way towards Adams and as the two were getting ready to grab a rebound, Carter gave a blatant elbow to the face of Adams resulting in an ejection.

The NBA doesn’t take too kindly to ‘blows to the head’ and even less kindly to deliberate actions, so it’s possible Carter may have an extended absence in the near future as he’s likely to be suspended for at least one, but possibly two games.
