Zach Randolph left last night's game for the birth of his child

The Grizzlies got crushed by the Pelicans last night, but it wasn’t because of Zach Randolph’s poor play. In fact, Randolph scored 2 points last night, then decided it was time to go. There was a pretty good reason though:

You have to respect a guy who wanted to be there for his child. A lot of times, pro athletes will miss things like this, but it clearly meant more to him than basketball. Randolph’s fiance gave birth to a boy, and he is now a father:

You can expect him to be back the next game, but he could be playing with a new purpose. Randolph had a bad reputation during his early years with the Blazers, but he has since re-branded himself with the Grizzlies. He was an all-star last year, and he will probably have a decent season this year. The Grizzlies are in trouble though, as they are not the same team this year, and David Joerger better get things together. Congratulations to Z BO.
