If you were ever wondering how you can build your speed, look out your back window and check out those pesky squirrels. Next, figure out a place that you can scout them out and ambush them before chasing them down and grabbing them with your bare hands.

That’s what the Auburn running back Tre Mason and the rest of his position group does to test their speed.

Apparently chasing down squirrels through the woods of Alabama is a rite of passage for Auburn running backs, and they are embracing the challenge and doing their best to haul in the squirrels as often as possible.

For Mason, he finally grabbed his first squirrel and couldn’t have been happier. He decided to share the photo on Twitter and Instagram.

Don’t get upset about the health of the squirrels, because the Auburn running backs release the rodents without any harm done.

Mason claims to have caught his first squirrel back in September, and he hasn’t slowed down since.
