Friday night not only featured the opening night of the 2013 college basketball season, it was also the first night for some of the more highly touted freshman in some time to debut their skills on the court.
Out of them all, though, Duke Blue Devils freshman Jabari Parker stole the show on this opening night.
Parker finished his first night with 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field, including going a perfect 3-3 from beyond the three-point line. He also added five rebounds and six assists in his team’s dominant win over Davidson.
Not bad at all for the McDonald’s All-American in his first game.
But, out of all he did, nothing will outshine what he did to bring the Cameron Crazies to their feet and land himself on the SportsCenter Top 10 in his debut performance.
Parker threw down a monster dunk off an alley-oop pass which almost seemed to be that statement to not only the Duke fans, but all college basketball fans across the nation that he has indeed arrived:
