MMA fighter Kaiyana Rain made her professional Muay Thai debut at Lion Fight 12 against Miranda Cayabyab, Nov. 1.
After five rounds, the more experienced Cayabyab would win the fight by split-decision.
For someone who was fighting in their first professional kickboxing bout – and facing an opponent with the experience of a Muay Thai champion like Cayabyab – Rain did a good job. Although some fans might want her to return to mixed martial arts, I would like to see her step into the ring and compete in another Muay Thai fight.
As fans cheered for Cayabyab, Rain landed some beautiful punches, engaged in the clinch and pushed forward.
Rain trains with a great camp at KingsMMA with one of the most well-known striking coaches, Rafael Cordeiro, and has what it takes to become a star in Muay Thai.
With Lion Fight continuing to grow, I’m sure they would not only be willing to have her fight on future events, but also could find her competitive matches.
