MMA veteran Melvin “No Mercy” Manhoef returns to the kickboxing ring for the first time since Janurary as he takes on K-1 star Zabit Samedov in the semi-finals of the Big 4 -93 kg tournament at Legend “Part 2 Invasion” event in Moscow, Russia, Nov. 9.

To say that Manhoef is the underdog would be an understatement. He has lost his last three kickboxing matches while Samedov comes into the bout with three-straight victories, one of which is over kickboxing legend Badr “The Golden Boy” Hari, who will also be competing at the event. Samedov also has twice as many fights as the Dutchman on his kickboxing record.

Still, Manhoef has tremendous power that has knocked out opponents in kickboxing and mixed martial arts.

If Manhoef wins this match he will face the winner of the Sahak “Hak” Parparyan vs. Pavel “Caiman” Zhuravlev fight later that evening.

By winning the tournament, Manhoef would not capture the biggest championship of his career, but also end 2013 on a high note.
