One of combat sports most beloved stars returns to mixed martial arts in two days.

Pride Openweight Grand Prix champion and UFC star Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic will face Alexey The Boa Constrictor” Oleinik at the Legend Part 2 Invasion event in Moscow, Russia. Oleinik is substituting for Aleksander Emelianenko, who pulled out of the fight due to injury.

This will be Cro Cop’s first fight since winning the K-1 World Grand Prix back in March.

On paper this looks like the classic grappler vs. striker match. Cro Cop’s striking is legendary and has made him one of the most revered and dangerous fighters in both kickboxing and mixed martial arts. The Boa Constrictor has won 38 fights by submission and is a 4th degree black belt in Jujutsu and an International Master of Sports in Sambo.

Although Oleinik has more fights on his record he has not faced the caliber of opponent that Cro Cop is used to facing. Stll, Oleinik, who is riding an eight-fight winning streak, is training with top fighters like Alistair Overeem and Badr Hari and could give the Croatian fighter a run for his money.
