Philadelphia Phillies want to bring back Carlos Luiz, but won't wait on him

The Philadelphia Phillies are looking to address their vacant catcher’s position sometime soon but want Carlos Ruiz to return to the team.

The thing about that is, the club isn’t going to wait that long for Ruiz so it’s pretty much a now or never situation. Ruiz is more than likely going to test the market, so it looks as if the team will be forced to move on from him.

A big target that they should consider bringing in, is former Chicago Cubs back up Dioner Navarro. Navarro had a huge season with the Cubs last year as he launched career high’s in home runs. He was a huge bat that was available on the bench for the Cubs late in the game if they needed him to pinch him.

He had back to back games where he had pinch hit home runs and had a huge game against the Chicago White Sox as he launched three home runs and six RBI’s in one game.

Even if they don’t go after Navarro, they still have the cash and a decent selection of catchers to choose from. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Navarro becomes their man.
