The Oakland Raiders need to rebound this week in the worst way after being embarrassed last week vs the Philadelphia Eagles, but they’ll likely have to do so this week vs the New York Giants without running back Darren McFadden. He re-tweaked his hamstring in the same spot that he suffered the original injury in Week 4 against the Washington Redskins.
Rashad Jennings is in line for the start against the Giants this week. Jennings piled up 176 yards and a score after coming in for the oft-injured McFadden, who Head Coach Dennis Allen ruled out today. He, along with first-round pick D.J. Hayden, safety Tyvon Branch, offensive tackle Tony Pashos, offensive tackle Matt McCants and wide receiver Juron Criner will all be staying in Oakland and have been ruled out for Sunday.
In seven games this season, McFadden has 352 rushing yards and 85 receiving yards, with four total touchdowns. Jennings, meanwhile, has 242 rushing and 171 receiving yards
Against a Giants team that struggles against the run, Jennings will be a good sleeper play Sunday, and he’s likely available in your league. He should be viewed as a solid flex play this week.
