Robin van Persie left Arsenal to join Manchester United. In his first season at Old Trafford, United won the league championship. In his second season at Old Trafford, they’re struggling to climb back to the top of the table.
His old club is sitting atop the league at the moment. On Sunday, United and Arsenal square off in English Premier League action. United’s new manager David Moyes said van Persie is happy at United though. The comments come as reply from Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger cheekily suggesting on Friday that he still thinks of him as a Gunner.
“I still think Sunday will be special for Robin,” Moyes told MUTV, via ESPN FC. “It is the club he played a lot of games for. But he has moved on now. He loves what he is doing here.
“In the time I have worked with him, he only speaks very highly about everything about the club. I went for a chat with him when I first got the job and he spoke in glowing terms about United. But obviously he had a great time in his early career with Arsenal as well.”
It should be a good game to watch though.
