Remember when Joba Chamberlain was to be the next big thing for the New York Yankees? Those days are long gone, though getting out of the bright lights of New York City may be good for the 28-year-old pitcher who is drawing heavy interest in the free agent market.
Chamberlain, who has in recent years been dealing with arm injuries was less than impressive during his 2013 campaign, but that hasn’t stopped teams from showing interest as more than a dozen teams have already expressed a desire in Chamberlain:
More than a dozen teams have inquired on Joba Chamberlain. No surprise, Yankees are NOT one of them. Has plenty of suitors though.
Regardless, it appears Chamberlain’s time in the Bronx is all but over and now it simply comes down to a bidding war.
Considering the lack of quality arms on the market and Chamberlain’s age (not to mention the fact he wasn’t given a qualifying offer by the Yankees), the young arm should do quite well for himself in the coming months.
