Liverpool lost ground in the race for the top of the English Premier League table when they lost to Arsenal last week. They came into the game sitting in third place and looking for a win at home against Fulham.

They were held scoreless until the 23rd minute when Fulham scored an own-goal to give Liverpool a 1-0 lead. It looked like Luis Suarez might have gotten it but on the replay you could tell that Fulham’s Fernando Amorebieta tried to head it out of bounds but sent it to the back of the net instead.

Three minutes later on a corner kick, Martin Skrtel scored on a header. He came across the box ahead of his defender to get a clean header into the goal. Ten minutes after that, Luis Suarez scored on a right footed shot from the right side of the box to the center of the goal. Jordan Henderson got the assist on that goal with a through ball that set the play up.

Liverpool came out swinging in the second half and had multiple opportunities on goal. Suarez finally got one to go in on a beautiful goal. He got some space and took the ball into the box and shot from the right side of the box. It looks like the goalie got a hand on it but couldn’t stop it.

They had other chances at well, but for the most part they were content to sit on the lead. Liverpool subbed off Steven Gerrard and Daniel Sturridge in the second half.
