The Alabama Crimson Tide and the LSU Tigers are currently embroiled in a battle with one another early in the third quarter as we’re now all tied up at 17.
The third quarter got underway moments ago with LSU receiving the ball first. Now, we knew coming in that Tigers QB Zach Mettenberger was going to have to have a tremendous game in this one for his team to have a chance, and he’s fared rather well so far.
However, he’s still going to need some help from his receivers, and he’s also gotten that as well.
In that opening drive of the second half, Mettenberger dropped back and sent a pass over the middle. The only problem was, Alabama’s star LB CJ Mosley was right there in the way.
Mosley, though, couldn’t hang on, but luckily for Mettenberger’s receiver triggered all the concentration he had to haul the ball in off the tip:
Those are the kind of plays that could end up deciding games in the end. We’ll see if this one is one of those.
