The Mississippi State Bulldogs are trying everything they absolutely can to pull off an upset in Kyle Field today against Johnny Manziel and the Texas A&M Aggies. So far, they’re in somewhat of a good position to do that, as they’re only down 23-14 at the half. Some things go their way in the second half, and Dan Mullen and his team could be in business.
But, to pull off an upset of this magnitude, you’re going to have to pull out all the stops and that’s what Mullen did in the second quarter.
In a throwback to the days when he was the offensive coordinator for the Florida Gators and Tim Tebow was his signal caller, Mullen called one of Tebow’s famous jump pass plays for his current quarterback, Dak Prescott, to run.
And, wouldn’t you know, it worked out exactly how Mullen envisioned and exactly how we remember Tebow executing the same play while in a Gators’ uniform:
That play pulled the Bulldogs to within 16-14, but the Aggies answered right back with a score to make it 23-16.
