West Virginia's throwback helmets are incredible (Photo)

In college football, you always get some incredible uniform combinations thanks to the forward thinking in the sport, but you also get some throwbacks sprinkled in here and there. The throwbacks aren’t always a successful look, but the ones that the West Virginia Mountaineers pulled out against the Texas Longhorns.

West Virginia was wearing throwbacks from the 1970’s, which were completed by an amazing helmet that has been a big hit on social media.

The throwback helmet features the West Virginia shape in blue, with a yellow football across the middle with “WVU” in the center. You have to see the helmet to fully appreciate them, so check it out below.

It doesn’t get much sharper than that. I don’t think you would hear many complaints if the Mountaineers made these their helmets moving forward, especially if they can knock off the Longhorns.

What do you think of the throwback helmets from the Mountaineers? Sound of fin the comments section below with your thoughts and opinions.
