Lionel Messi has spent his entire professional career with Barcelona and has stated that he wants to finish his career with the club. Manchester City’s Alvaro Negredo, who moved to the EPL from Sevilla, thinks Messi could be tempted to join an EPL club within two years.
“I could see someone like Messi coming to England and following players like David Silva, Juan Mata, Santi Cazorla, David de Gea and myself,” Negredo said, via ESPN FC. “He could play well in any league in the world. Maybe in two or five years he will get bored with La Liga, want a change and come over here.”
The biggest transfer might have been from the EPL to the La Liga this summer, but there were a lot of players who went the opposite direction as well. Negredo also left out Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil signing.
Negredo, who has played in both leagues, has praised the EPL and said it is better than expected.
“The Premier League is the best place to be for the world’s top stars,” he added. “Having been here for a few months it is better than I thought it would be. Your expectations go up here.”
It would be intersesting to say the least and their are plenty of big clubs who would be interested in signing him. His biggest La Liga rival, Real Madrid, has two superstars from the EPL: Gareth Bale from Tottenham and Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.
