A disappointing season for Houston Texans running back Arian Foster has come to an end. There were some concerns about whether or not Foster would be able to finish out the rest of the season after questions surrounding his back continued to grow, and we got our answer on Sunday morning.

According to reports, the Texans will announce on Monday that Foster will need surgery for a lumbar issue that will force him to be shut down for the remainder of the year.

From Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network and Mike Garafolo of USA Today Sports:

Without Foster in the line up, the Texans will need Ben Tate to carry the load and rookie Dennis Johnson will serve as the change of pace back. They will role with Deji Karim as the No. 3 rusher.

It is not the news you would like to hear when you are trying to turn your season around, but these are the hurdles you will need to face throughout an NFL season.
