The Dallas Cowboys are atop the NFC East and are taking on the New Orleans Saints on Sunday Night Football. This game has a lot of interesting story lines. Saints head coach Sean Payton was an assistant head coach under Bill Parcells with the Cowboys. Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan was the Cowboys defensive coordinator last year but was fired in the offseason and became the scapegoat for their 2012 season.

“I love Rob Ryan,” Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said, via ESPN. “He is a fantastic person. He is a fantastic coach. And has been for a long time.”

“Any time a guy gets fired from a spot he’s at and he has an opportunity to play them, he wants to prove a point,” Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis said. “They know that. We know that.”

Rob Ryan is down playing it though.

“If I worried about every team that’s fired me, hell, I’d have a grudge every week,” Ryan said, via Pro Football Talk. “This is a huge game. It’s a big game for both teams.”

“Whatever people suggest, it doesn’t make a crap to me because I know I’m a great coach,” Ryan said. “So whatever it is, it is. But I said in Dallas on my way out, there are a couple better coaches than me who have been fired. Not many, but there’s a couple.”
