Doctors tell Giants RB David Wilson he faces further risk of neck injury if he plays again
By Josh Sanchez
New York Giants running back David Wilson was placed on the injured reserve list last week as he continues to recover from a neck injury, but it also looks like his career is in jeopardy after doctors advised him that he faces further risk of a neck injury if he returns to the field next season.
However, that apparently won’t stop Wilson from attempting to make a comeback.
From ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
It is hard to criticize a guy that wants to return to the game that he has known since childhood and advise him to walk away from the game he loves, but there becomes a time that the health risk is just too great.
If Wilson runs the risk of suffering a potentially devastating neck injury by returning to the field, he will need to really think things through this offseason to make sure he is making the right choice for himself and his family moving forward.
