Dolphins HC Joe Philbin, GM Jeff Ireland unlikely to survive Incognito scandal

In the wake of the Richie Incognito scandal, the Miami Dolphins are expected to mix things up at the end of the season if not sooner. Two of the men who could be held responsible for the lack of leadership and structure in the locker room are head coach Joe Philbin and general manager Jeff Ireland, who fans have been hoping would be outed regardless.

According to’s Mike Silver, neither Philbin nor Ireland “are expected to survive this.”

Philbin has denied knowing the extent of the Richie Incognito – Jonathan Martin situation, despite reports stating otherwise. If he was a true leader of the team, he would have nipped this in the bud and made sure it never got to this level.

As for Ireland, he has continuously built losing teams that have underachieved and his latest spending spree didn’t go as planned.

It’s time for the Dolphins to hold people accountable, and that looks like it will begin with the men upstairs.

Ok I am going to say it. I have a feeling and I hope it’s not gas. lol Daily. Fins have put up with the media barrage against this team. Overblown garbage to tear down the over hype they built the Fins up to be in the off season. Kind of like NY Jet drama. Hey, they don’t have Tebow as a constant source of drama.

From a 3-0 start against some good teams. A forgivable loss to the Saints in a Monday night game on the road. Some really crappy interference calls that blew the Ravens game. A totally unnacceptable loss to the injury ravaged Bills. And then utter stupidity that gave the Patriots game. A crazy win vs Bengals in the midst of controversy. Fins fans heads are spinning and it seems like we are one of the worst teams in the NFL. I had to drag myself to endure a look at the standings. Then I got the feeling.

Turns out we are not the worst team in the NFL. The AFC East looks out of reach but a wild card is more than possible. The Fins weren’t going to win the Super Bowl with this team this year anyhow. If they make the playoffs and get 1 win would equal a good season in reality.

This game against Tampa is a must win and a should win. 5-4 record puts the Fins in a tie for the last wild card position with the Jets who they still play twice. New England at home, bills on the road accounts for 4 of the remaining 7 games. With San Diego and Carolina at home and Steelers on the road.

I assume this is an angry football team right now, I know I would be. I also don’t see how the backup OL players play any worse than the first stringers played. Maybe they will improve without Incognito and Martin. With the Bengals win as salve on their wounds and a Bucs win on national TV….. Don’t look now but the Dolphins are back in the mix.

I just have a crazy feeling that the Dolphins WILL make the playoffs. You heard it here first unless the feeling turns out to be just another case of indigestion.
