Jonathan Martin's "text" to Richie Incognito about murdering his family was an internet meme

Sunday morning before the NFL action got kicked off, FOX NFL Sunday gave us an exclusive interview with suspended Dolphins OT, Richie Incognito. Jay Glazer conducted the interview in which Incognito tried to shed some light to everyone on what exactly his side of the story is with the whole situation surrounding the alleged bullying of teammate Jonathan Martin.

During the interview, Incognito mentioned that he had received a text from Martin saying, “I will murder your whole [expletive] family.”

Now whether or not you want to believe some of the things that Incognito had to say on Sunday is up to you. But I can say with confidence that he was telling the truth in this instance. He did receive a text message just as he described.

Only thing is, it was an internet meme…

That tweet was sent out by the attorney of Jonathan Martin, David Cornwell. The language of the tweet was cleaned up by CBS’ Will Brinson.

As you can see, Incognito was telling the truth, but in a sly manner. This could very well just have been something that Martin sent to his “big brother” to get a chuckle out of him, not insinuate that he intended on murdering his family.
