Triple double watch: Wolves’ Ricky Rubio

At halftime of the Minnesota Timberwolves romp over the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center, Wolves’ point guard Ricky Rubio is on pace for a fairly easy triple-double.

While the Wolves are on their way to snapping a nine (9!) year losing streak to the Lakers, Rubio has posted an impressive line of 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists. He’s also chipped in 4 steals.

Of course, if the Wolves maintain or increase their massive lead, Rubio likely won’t see much court time in the fourth quarter. The Wolves will be at Staples Center again tomorrow night, facing the Clippers on the second night of a back-to-back, so you can bet that Wolves’ coach Rick Adelman will be looking to manage his point guard’s minutes.

Kevin Love leads all scorers with 20 points to go along with 11 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal at halftime. The Lakers have been led by Nick Young, Pau Gasol, and and Steve Blake, who have managed to score eight points apiece in the first half debacle.
