The Miami Dolphins have announced that majority owner Stephen Ross will take questions before tonight’s Monday night game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is not expected to make a significant statement, but is going to take questions at 6pm. Considering the circumstances in Miami and the national spotlight this game puts them in beyond what they are already dealing with, this might be the best course of action for both Ross and the Dolphins.
Earlier in the day, Ross is reported to have reached out to offensive tackle Jonathan Martin and said he would work to make the Dolphins a good work environment. This entire situation has not only made the Dolphins organization look bad, but has left the futures of Martin, Richie Incognito, general manager Jeff Ireland and head coach Joe Philbin are unclear at this point, with all of them looking bleak at the moment. It remains to be seen how up front and honest will be when he is asked tough questions, but he at least will be out there, so it should be at least interesting. In the meantime, the Dolphins have a chance to go 5-4 and keep their playoff chances alive.
