Kenny Vaccaro out with another concussion
By Jason Marcum
The New Orleans Saints dominated the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night football, but they did suffer one significant loss in their secondary heading into next week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Rookie strong safety Kenny Vaccaro posted on Instagram that he will miss the team’s Week 11 date with the 49ers after suffering a concussion against Dallas:
Vaccaro suffered the injury while trying to tackle Cowboys tight end Jason Witten in the second half and did not return after Witten’s knee collided with his helmet at the end of the play.
It’s the second concussion that Vaccaro has suffered this season. He suffered on just a few weeks ago against the Buffalo Bills, but didn’t miss any games as a result of that one.
The fact that he already knows he’ going to miss this week’s game is concerning to say the least. Vaccaro has started all nine games for the Saints as a rookie after he was selected in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He has managed one sack and one interception for the team, while racking up 45 tackles and five passes defended.
