Los Angeles Lakers’ shooting guard Kobe Bryant owes Louisville Cardinals’ forward Kevin Ware a trip to a game.
Both players suffered devastating injuries at the end of last season.
Ware was hurt in front of a national television audience while his Cardinals defeated the Duke Blue Devils in the Elite Eight. You could literally see Ware’s bone – it was one of the most disturbing injuries you could witness.
Bryant tore his Achilles tendon at the end of the regular season last year in a win over the Denver Nuggets and hasn’t played since.
During the offseason, Bryant and Ware bet on which player would return from their injury first.
Ware has returned for the Cardinals, meaning he has won the bet.
“We actually made a bet, whoever comes back first has got to come to each other’s game, so I got to get in touch with him again so he can make it to a game,” Ware told ESPN’s Sunday Conversation.
