Texas Longhorns quarterback David Ash was hoping to come back to the team this weekend vs the West Virginia Mountaineers a he continues to recover from a concussion suffered nearly two months ago against the BYU Cougars. The effects of it have lingered and held him out of action for essentially every game since, including Saturday’s overtime win over the Mountaineers, a win that now has Texas in the top-25 and tied atop the Big-12.
Ash has not played since the first half of the Kansas State game on September 21, and at this rate, he’ll be lucky to get back onto the field before the conclusion of the regular season. He certainly won’t be playing this week vs the Oklahoma State Cowboys after the team declared him out today:

With Ash out, Case McCoy will be making his seventh start of the year while true freshman Tyrone Swoopes will be backing him up.
