According to multiple sources, the first member of Conference USA to get an invite to this year’s Senior Bowl is wide receiver Ryan Grant from Tulane. After a sports hernia ended his junior campaign, he took a medical redshirt and came back in a big way the next two seasons. The 6’1″ 191lb receiver from Beaumont, Texas has caught 136 passes for 1,926 yards and 13 touchdowns in his last 22 games as a member of the Green Wave.
After back to back 2-10 seasons, Tulane are bowl eligible with a is 6-4 with a big win in overtime over East Carolina. Grant was able to catch 6 passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns. His best game this season was in a tough loss to South Alabama, but he had an impressive 14 catches for 187 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Grant will have his chance to prove that he belongs with the best of the best, assuming he accepts the invite. It would provide a big opportunity for him to get his name on the map for fans who have not been able to see many Green Wave games this year. In the meantime, Tulane is still alive for the Western division in Conference USA with a chance to play in the conference title.
