Angela “Overkill” Hill’s professional mixed martial arts debut will not be like most fighters as she already finds herself fighting for a major championship.
Hill will face Stephanie “The Scrapper” Skinner for the XFC Atomweight championship at XFC 27, Dec. 13.
Although Hill has never been in a mixed martial arts bout, she has racked up 14 wins in professional Muay Thai and that is enough to warrant her a championship match.
As for Skinner, she comes into the match with a record of 2-4. She is coming off a second-round TKO win over Margaret Bloom.
While it is clear Hill will have an advantage in the striking department, she may have some trouble competing in a cage for the first time. Still, the undefeated Muay Thai fighter could have some cage skills that could surprise The Scrapper and her fans.
It is great that XFC is continuing to build off of their women’s division as gives the promotion a chance to build new stars for the promotion. It also allows newer women fighters a chance to gain some professional fighting experience before moving up to a big organization like Invicta Fighting Championships.
But for Hill, winning the XFC Atomweight championship would be a good start to what could become a great mixed martial arts career.
