ESPN Tip-Off Marathon: No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats vs. No. 2 Michigan State Spartans preview

Part of what makes the college basketball season so much fun in the early going are the top out-of-conference match ups that we’re treated to right as the campaign gets underway.

On Tuesday night, it doesn’t get much bigger than number one vs. number two as the top-ranked Kentucky Wildcats and their stellar freshman class will take on Tom Izzo and the second-ranked Michigan State Spartans in the State Farm Champions Classic.

After putting together one of the best recruiting classes of all time this past offseason, led by star forward Julius Randle, head coach John Calipari’s youngsters will be put to an early test against an experienced Michigan State roster.

The Spartans are indeed the ones with experience in this one as they return four starters off of last year’s team that reached as far as the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.

This game is the ultimate battle of youth against experience. Can the young Kentucky group pull it all together quickly enough this early in the season to counter that experience of Michigan State?

Here’s all the info that you’ll need to watch and find that answer out on Tuesday night:

Date: Nov. 12

Start Time: 7:30pm ET

Location: Chicago, IL

Arena: United Center

TV Info: ESPN

Live Stream: WatchESPN app
